Philadelphia Bronze

is an advanced auditioned handbell ensemble that seeks to pursue the highest level of excellency in ringing and ringing techniques. Under the direction of Martha Alford, the group performs in and around the Philadelphia area on 7 octaves of Malmark bells and 7 octaves of Malmark chimes. Drawing ringers from as far as New Jersey and Lancaster, PA, the ensemble maintains the highest level of technique standard while artistically expressing elegant energy.

    Philadelphia Bronze Seeks New Artistic Director

    As our current Artistic Director is leaving the area to pursue new and exciting endeavors, Philadelphia Bronze is seeking applications for Artistic Director beginning with the 2017-2018 season. The qualified candidate will have the ability to conduct performances, rehearse the ensemble, and provide leadership for their outreach programs.


    Interested candidates are invited to submit a letter of interest that includes a current resume, including: a.) educational background/training, b.) hyperlinks to YouTube or a similar electronic media platform of two recent conducting performances with an ensemble, and c.) a sample program for one season of Philadelphia Bronze. Please submit applications electronically to director@philadelphiabronze.com. Applications must be received no later than July 31, 2017.
